Working Bee 17 January 2016

There was a huge pile of woodchip mulch to spread over the garden; some brushcutting to be done to tidy up the edges, and weeds to be pulled at our last working bee.

Five volunteers set to, and by the end of the day about a quarter of the mulch had been spread on the edges of the garden where the kikuyu and couch grass were creeping in, and weeds had been pulled and left to decompose back into the soil.

A couple of magpies followed us around where we had done the weeding, and were happily taking advantage of the worms and grubs that had been exposed.
