We were hoping to spread more mulch this Sunday, however it hasn’t been delivered yet, so plan B is just to weed out some kikuyu and fix up the notice board to stop moisture getting in and washing away the writing on the white board.
Dave, Laura, Fabio and Myself (Darren) will be there this Working bee, there will be plenty of time for anyone to ask us questions about anything related to the UCG Project. It would be great to see you and have a chat about what we have done and what were are planing to do.
Once we get more mulch down we can focus on planting the fruit trees and natives in the top corner. We have most of the natives needed donated by the Kentucky Tree Nursery. They are on stand by ready to be planted. Half of the fruit trees are also ready to be planted.
Thank you to everyone who donated money towards the purchase of fruit trees, We received approx $350.00, this money has enabled us to purchase and order some more exotic varieties. We also used $45.00 to purchase a bunch of grevilleas from the Armidale tree group. Grevilleas are one of few winter flowering scrubs for the nectar eating native fauna, they also make fantastic small bird habitat.
One project we are super excited about is the onsite shed/green house that we plan to build using compressed earth bricks. We are currently designing a machine to make the bricks (CEB machine). We have a good idea of how we want the shed built but lack the skills to draught it. If you have the skills, time and desire to draft this simple shed/green house we would love to here from you.
